Let us go then, you and I,
when there is not a grey cloud in the sky,
and row upon Cayuga’s waters.
Let us write to English and journalism’s beats,
before we retreat
to building houses for Habitat,
and penning papers, articles that
find me much removed from my Jersey home
like Springsteen’s want to roam.
Of Ithaca you ask, “How is it?”
So let us go and make our visit.
As senior year comes to its close
I wake to write, but first I row.

Imagine waking up to the sound of a fire bell at three in the morning, venturing into the freezing cold to fight the fire, and returning home to get some shut-eye until maybe six o’clock. That’s when you have morning ice hockey practice. Oh, and your first class starts at eight: gymnastics. Better hope you shaved, because if not, the coach will send you away. For Bob Driscoll '74, M.S. '75, that was campus life at Ithaca College.
