It started with a simple idea that soon spawned a YouTube video with over 13,000 views in just a few days.
In light of the recent tragedies surrounding the LGBT community, a group of Ithaca College students decided to use the media resources Ithaca College has to produce a video for columnist Dan Savage’s “It Gets Better” campaign.
Ithaca College President Tom Rochon, Park School Dean Diane Gayeski, along with professors, staff, and students from across the college, gathered in the Park School of Communications on October 11 -- National Coming Out Day -- and filmed a six-minute video promoting the acceptance of the LGBT community, and offering hope to anyone struggling with the pressures of finding a place to belong.
Watch the video below and be reminded it gets better, whether it’s here at Ithaca College or anywhere else.
