The Ithaca gymnastics team has taken over the top spot of the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association team rankings!

The Bombers posted a season-high total of 186.425 during Saturday's Harriett Marranca Memorial Invitational. There are now only two meets left until the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The teams current scoring average is an impressive 184.6563, and their record of 11–3 is one of their best in recent history.

Six Ithaca gymnasts were ranked among the top 10 at the event: Kailee Spusta '11, Emily Graber '10, Jessica Bolduc '12, Frances Entes '09, Roxanne Deshaies '09, and Brianne Sullivan '10.

The ECAC Championships will be held at Ursinus College on March 7, followed by the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championships on March 20 and 21, in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

"This team is training very effectively," says coach Rick Suddaby. "They are focussed in practice and are committed at getting their work done."

Suddaby has high hopes for the team, which has a busy few weeks ahead of it. "We are using our Cortland meet as a practice for ECAC's. At ECAC's the top three teams move on to nationals. ECAC's is a do or die meet. Our goals are to practice hitting our routines at Cortland, and hitting our routines at ECAC's. If we hit our routines, we will go to nationals. Hitters are Winners."

Go Bombers!
