For the past 17 years, Ithaca College has had one student win a Fulbright Award every year or two. Last year two Ithaca College students received Fulbrights. This year—for the first time ever—three of Ithaca’s graduating seniors earned this prestigious honor.

Spanish and English double major Kelly Helin ’07 will travel to Bulgaria, where she will help primary and secondary school students learn English. Politics and music double major and Martin Luther King Scholar Sarah Kessler ’07 will be researching the political climate of South Korea, particularly the status of migrant workers and their families. Sociology major Betsabe Luna ’07 plans to research education and teaching in Spanish high schools. She will also work with local organizations that deal with domestic violence issues.
