30 seniors showcase their work at the Handwerker Gallery


Ithaca College students had a hands-on experience using their photography skills to benefit the Ithaca community as part of the Park Award for Photo Activism class, where students were paired with local nonprofit organizations.


This past June, three physics students at Ithaca College had the rare opportunity to work onboard the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, or SOFIA. 


Every year, IC students in the Composing in the Schools program work with students and teachers from area middle schools to produce a piece for the middle school musicians to perform.


Last semester, the chemistry department installed a single crystal X-ray diffractometer for students to use in the lab and for research. This state-of-the-art equipment will allow researchers to analyze the crystal structure and properties of cells and to fully determine the actual location of every tiny atom in a compound. By understanding the structure, the researcher can then make predictions about the properties and possible real-world applications of these materials.
