Everyone knows Ithaca’s got a pretty extensive music scene. Here’s where to find it.


What could entice more than a thousand people to stand for hours outside in the cold of an Ithaca February? Chilifest.


My main stop whenever I’m downtown on the Commons is Petrune, which carries clothes and accessories with a creative, retro flair, whether they’re vintage or new.


Freshman year Steve Goeway and I sat with Norah Shipman in Jack Powers’ Introduction to Mass Media class, talking about running. I reminded Steve that at the time he said he’d like to find the perfect running route in Ithaca.


One weekend every fall, the good folk at the Downtown Ithaca Alliance host the Apple Harvest Festival, or Applefest, turning the Commons into a bustling street fair, complete with craft and food vendors, stage performances, and some more traditional festival touches (most notably, a Ferris wheel and fun slide for kids).
