After Ithaca

An idea that was first conceived by six alumni on Ithaca College’s ICTV seven years ago made it into the pilot of a new comedy sketch TV series they have created called The Birthday Boys, which premiered on the Independent Film Channel this fall.

After Apple released the iPad in 2010, Simon Baumer ’05 and Paul Canetti ’05 saw a need for magazine publishers to be able to distribute their material using the new format. That same year they founded MAZ Digital, a platform that enables publishers to create and sustain their own app.

While competing in the Baltimore Running Festival in 2011, Erin Michael ’05 noticed how few hand cyclists there were in the race. As a physical therapist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, Michael helps rehabilitate patients with spinal cord injuries, and it occurred to her during the race that her patients might benefit from participating in it.
