I am now an IC alumna. I graduated as a writing major and art history minor and currently live in my hometown, Wayne, NJ, which is about 30 minutes outside of New York City. I used to be a resident assistant and an office assistant at the Circles office. I am a proud Cuban-American and I've studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain. I hope to travel more in the future.

My favorite thing about Ithaca is the natural beauty that surrounds it and of course the people here. They are just amazing; everyone opens doors for you, literally and figuratively.

I have always been fascinated with my Cuban background and the Spanish language. My aunt once told me, “Go to a Spanish-speaking country for a few months and you’ll come back speaking Spanish fluently.”

I never really thought it would ever happen; I didn’t think I’d have that kind of opportunity or the...

Soul and Sound at Ithaca

In the spirit of celebrating Black History Month, the African-Latino Society and Spit That! hosted a night of soul and sound in Emerson Suites.

The suites were filled with candlelit tables and buffet tables, whetting appetites with chicken marsala and shitake mushrooms. While images and blurbs of “unsung heroes” like W.E.B. ...
