I'm a junior Communication Management and Design Major with a minor in Legal Studies. I'm originally from DuBois, Pennsylvania, which is about 30 minutes from Punxsutawney, the home of Punxy Phil and Groundhog Day (believe it or not, it's a holiday for most schools in our area). Back home I used to work part-time for a professional radio station. I spent three years there and I definitely think it's one of the coolest first jobs anyone could ever ask for.
I just spent this past spring living in Sydney, Australia -- one of the greatest experiences of my life (for more on that, check out my Fuse blog, Livin' in the Land Down Under). The day after I returned state-side, I started my internship with Fleishman-Hillard in Washington, D.C. -- yet another amazing experience.
I'm constantly on the go, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Here at IC, I'm involved with Colleges Against Cancer, PRSSA, and STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition -- just to name a few. During my senior year of high school, I had a "little buddy" in my Mom's first grade class, and being around little kids is one of the things I missed most when I came to Ithaca. So now I'm involved with IC Bigs, Ithaca's chapter of Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
I am a firm believer that Disney World really is the "Happiest Place on Earth", and my freshman year visits to see my best friend, who worked for WDW Entertainment, are some of my fondest memories. Interrupt my friends and I during Heroes or Grey's Anatomy and there will be consequences. I love Sour Patch Kids, Ithaca's own Purity Ice Cream, Nintendo Wii, and reading for pleasure (it's a lost art for most of us from September to May).
There's always something going on at IC, whether it be interesting guest speakers like Saw producer Dan Heffner '78 and the NBC Today Show's Natalie Morales, film screenings, concerts, a festival downtown, or sporting events. Personally, I'm a proud supporter of Ithaca College Field Hockey -- Go Bombers!
Overall, I'm just making sense of this life one day at a time and enjoying every minute of it.

One Tuesday early this month Arianna Huffington wrote a blog post at 1:15 a.m. about how President Obama has progressed from having the “audacity to win” to the “timidity to govern.” By the time she arrived at Ithaca College later that afternoon, that blog post had received more than 3,500 comments.

For four months, I was a resident of Sydney, Australia. Studying abroad “down under” for the spring, I attended one of Australia’s most prestigious universities, learned to surf, cuddled a koala, fed kangaroos, slept under the stars in the Outback, and swam in the waters of the Great Barrier Reef. I also visited neighboring New Zealand, where I hiked Franz Josef glacier.

Alumna Sarah Parker made sure the C-SPAN Civics Bus made a stop at Ithaca College. “I’ve wanted to bring this bus to IC since I started working for C-SPAN three years ago,” said Sarah Parker ’98.
Her dream was finally realized when the state-of-the-art mobile TV studio arrived outside the Roy...

Visitors to the Office of Admission on October 23 experienced a frightening surprise, as dozens of ghosts took over the outdoor patio of the Peggy R. Williams Center. These "Climate Caspers" were only some of the nearly 200 students, alumni, faculty, and staff that came together in support of 350.org’s global day of action to stop climate change.

"Don't let the good times go to your head; don't let the bad times stop you." This is one of many valuable insights that Ithaca College grad and Saw franchise producer Dan Heffner shared on his most recent visit to the Roy H. Park School of Communications.

Diners at each of the campus dining halls may have been shocked to see flames flickering toward the ceilings during dinner one evening recently. Don't worry, though. The fire was contained!

Scholarships can defray the cost of college, though applying for them is not always an exciting process. IC offers a truly unique scholarship experience -- a scholarship for an educational experience obtained through service -- in Africa. Students with majors in either the Roy H. Park School of Communications or the Department of Politics are eligible to apply for the Reginald...

Saw producer Dan Heffner '78 screens his new film at IC: It’s 4:30 p.m. on a gorgeous Friday afternoon, yet the auditorium in the Park School of Communications is packed with students, some of whom have been waiting anxiously in their seats for over three hours. Why? Because Dan Heffner ’78, best known for his work as the producer of the...

Ithaca College remains a leader in providing students and faculty with access to new media. This year the Roy H. Park School of Communications installed a VideoLink ReadyCam studio.
