Like playing Risk? Have dreams of world domination? Now Ithaca College is part of GoCrossCampus, an online multiplayer game where residence halls fight to control campus. Created by a group of Ivy League undergraduates, the game recently celebrated one year of existence.
Join a team based on where you're living (including off campus) and try to conquer the whole map by eliminating the other teams. Each player gets to move once each turn, which usually lasts 24 hours. Teams can strategize online, elect commanders, and even discover spies who have lied about their residences. All you need is a valid Ithaca College e-mail address to sign up.

Do you have dreams of grabbing the golden snitch? Now even muggles can get in on the action: Quidditch has made its way to schools like Vassar and Middlebury, and an Ithaca team might be getting their brooms off the ground.
This October, IC will be competing in the Fall Campus Challenge. The competition is trying to increase student use of public transportation. You can rack up points for IC by walking, biking, riding the bus, or carpooling. IC is competing against many other schools.
Become part of the Ithaca College Campus Challenge team by signing up -- just go to Commuter Challenges and click on the "Fall Campus Challenge" icon. Select Ithaca College as your school and create your individual team member record. You can keep track of the points you earn by keeping a "Commute Log."
There will be awards for three categories: The highest percentage of participation, the highest percentage of alternative transportation used, and the most CO2 saved. There will also be individual prizes, so travel wisely and better your chances of winning.
Tickekts can be purchased online, but will also be available at the door.
The Cayuga DanceSport Challenge--a dance competition of cha cha, rumba, swing, mambo, and bolero dancing--will take place at IC next Saturday, Sept. 27. It is a daylong event and over 180 competitors are entered. After the competiton, Carolina and Felipe Telona (two-time World Salsa Champions and the Argentine Tango Champions) will be performing. Hate the traffic on South Hill? A new form of public transportation might make its way to Ithaca: a local group, “Connect Ithaca” wants to bring PodCars to the city. PodCars are on-demand rail transportation, like a personal subway car. The cars are the brainchild of Swedish company called Vectus.
