Beyond the 675,000-square-foot arena, the 18,103 seats, and the many basketball games at the Barclays Center are the people working behind the scenes to make it all possible.
One of these people is Nathaniel Hemingway ’13, an account executive at the Barclays Center for the Brooklyn Nets. As an account executive, he is in charge of bringing in new business for the Nets through personal prospecting, cold calling, and bringing clients out to games.
Hemingway was a sport management major at Ithaca College and said the most important skill he learned was how to work with others, as he deals with many people on a daily basis in his current position.
“I love being able to take care of clients or help somebody’s family have a great time or taking a little kid down to the courtside before a game,” he said. “People have great times because I’m around, and that’s a very rewarding feeling.”
