Fuse interviewed eight Ithaca College students about what they were most concerned about as they prepared for college -- and asked what advice they’d give prospective students just like you.

Molly McPike ‘12: I have a campus job, and I am also a student ambassador, which means I give tours, house overnight student guests, and participate in accepted student online chats and telethons.
I am a student ambassador in IC Peers, too, because I love IC and want to make sure prospective students have a lot of information before they make their decisions. I was also part of the MLK day of service, and I've participated in leadership retreats.
Karin Edsall ‘12: I play on the varsity volleyball team, and that keeps me pretty busy during the fall. In the spring, I turn my attention to classes, ballroom dance, and tae kwon do. Beginners are welcome in many clubs, which makes it so much more fun to learn, grow, and get involved in the IC community.
Daniel Brown ‘11: I am the president and cofounder of a film club, IC Movie Night. My roommate and I founded this club to bring together students who enjoy watching films, especially freshmen who may not have had the opportunity to make friends yet.
I am also an editor at iMPrint Magazine. I started writing show reviews and then applied for the editorial position when it became available.
Samantha Stern ‘12: I am involved in varsity cheerleading as well as the gerontology volunteer group called AGES. Being in cheerleading allows me to have a special bond with the other women in the group. AGES is an adult community service group. I am an aging studies major, so joining the group has given me a chance to combine my academic and public service interests.
Katherine Sullivan ‘12: I am involved as a student ambassador in IC Peers, the social network for accepted students only. I decided to get involved because during my college search I benefited from talking to IC students who had been through the decision process. I really wanted to be someone that incoming freshmen could talk to and get help in making their decisions.
Katrina Thoene ‘12: Being on the volleyball team is a huge commitment, but it’s definitely worth it because I love the sport, and I've met so many amazing people on the team. I'm also a member of the PT club, which performs community service on campus and in the community.
I love to go to the many events on campus, too: Ithacappella concerts (which are awesome), stand-up comedy, movie showings, special food nights, and much more!
Kaylee Underkofler ‘11: I work at Wegmans, which I like because it gets me off campus and makes it easy to meet people from the community and Cornell.
I am also a big sister in the Big Brother Big Sister program at the Ithaca Youth Bureau. On campus, I am active in the Physical Therapy Club and on the survivorship committee of Colleges Against Cancer.
Riley Dunn ‘12: I am on the basketball team, which has helped me open up and truly be myself with a completely new group of people. The other girls on the team are like sisters, and I know they would help me if I were struggling for any reason.
I’m also involved in IC Peers, which matches current students with incoming and prospective students to answer questions about the college transition, campus life, and academics.
Ithaca College boasts more than 150 student organizations, from the Anime Society to IC After Dark, KUUMBA Repertory Theatre, and the Women in Business Network, there's a club for every interest. And, of course, there are all kinds of sports you can play here, too!
