    WICB is known for its strong programs and outgoing DJs and reporters. It comes as no surprise that the station has steadily won awards for its programming and hosts. Here are just a few of the most recent honors awarded to WICB.

    APRIL 2008
    Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Awards

    • First place: Best news reporting -- Chris Baxter ’08 for ICB Sunday's “SPCA under Fire”
    • Second place: Radio sports reporting -- Robert Schroeder ’08 for “History of the Cortaca Jug”

    JUNE 2008
    New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association

    • Special mention: Eric Ketos ’11, for a report on tree rings, produced for ICB Sunday
    • First place: Best interview -- Cal Borchers ’07 and Eric Keto ’11, for work on the Coddington Road widening project. This award was open to all stations, including small-market stations in New York State.

    New York State Broadcasters Association Competition

    • Best sportscast: “History of the Cortaca Jug,” written and produced by Robert Schroeder ’08. This entry competed against all small-market stations in New York, not just college stations.

    AUGUST 2008
    2008 Collegiate Broadcasters National Student Production Awards

    • Finalist: “History of the Cortaca Jug.”

    NOVEMBER 2008
    mtvU’s Woodie Awards

    • Winner: Best college radio station
